AH&M — Air Hydraulics & Mechanical Equipment, Inc.

About

The engineer answers the phone.

Air Hydraulics & Mechanical Equipment, Inc. is owned and operated by Art Hughes, a mechanical engineer with a degree from Clemson University and a career spent on industrial air, hydraulic, and vacuum systems along the Gulf Coast.

Who you're working with

One name on the work.

Plenty of equipment companies have a sales desk, a service department, and an engineering consultant somewhere upstream. At AH&M those are the same person. When Art quotes a system, he's the one who will model it in SolidWorks, size it against your load, install it, and stand behind the commissioning numbers.

That range — from theoretical mechanical engineering through physical installation and testing — is unusual, and it's the point. Problems don't get lost in handoffs, and the person who made the design decision is the one who answers for it in the field.

The service promise

Zero returns.

AH&M has long operated under a simple standard it calls the Quality Service Promise: approach every job, regardless of scope, with the goal of zero returns — do it right the first time, so nobody has to come back for the same problem.

The second half of the promise is staying current. Industrial equipment, controls, and design tools keep moving; a shop that stops learning starts guessing. Continuing education — from engineering practice to the software on the design workstation — is part of the job.

Where we work

Both sides of the Bay.

Home base is Spanish Fort, on the Eastern Shore — minutes from the industrial corridors of Mobile across the Bay and the growing commercial base of Baldwin County. If your operation runs compressed air, hydraulics, or vacuum anywhere in Mobile and Baldwin County, Alabama, you're in the service area. For work beyond it, ask — the answer is usually a straightforward yes or no, not a runaround.
